Here are some recent fannish things I've happened to see and would like to share!

Spotlight: TVA: Time Variance Authority #1-4
I had no intention of picking up this comic. Then I learned that the Sylvie character from the Loki TV show would be in issue #2, and I thought, well, I'll try that one issue... and here I am now with all 4 issues to date, having enjoyed Katharyn Blair's writing enough that I'm recommending it. So far, this book is a re-integration of the good parts of the MCU's multiverse shenanigans back into the MU proper from which they sprang. All the main characters are variants, of course, and the TVA looks like the MCU one, not the original MU one. A Gwen (Ghost Spider, Spiderverse movies) is the ostensible POV character. A Peggy (Captain Carter, What if?) leads the team, which includes the Gwen, a Remy (Gambit, Deadpool and Wolverine), all the Loki characters (except no appearances by Loki himself, of course), and two newly-created characters. And -- spoiler -- according to the final panels of issue #4 and also widespread industry reporting, we'll get a Wanda (Scarlet Witch) in issue #5. (Almost the only thing I'd ask to make this story better for me, personally, would be for Sylvie -- or Peggy or Mobius -- to be the POV character instead of teenage Gwen. Unfortunately for that hope, the book is run out of Marvel's "Spidey Office.")

- pinchhits is a forum for pinch-hits in exchanges. For example, the_mane_event is seeking pinch hitters.

Sidelight: TLOZ on Nintendo Switch 2
Price and release issues aside -- neither of which are Nintendo's fault -- I am still hoping to be able to buy the Switch 2 I saved for. Even if I can't, someone will, and there will be transcripts, YouTube videos, and wiki updates sharing the new stories, which is the important thing! We'll be getting over 100 new audio memories read by Zelda's voice actress for TOTK, and presumably as many for BOTW. And Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment isn't a type of game I want to play, myself, but I am very eager for the lore and the cutscenes! The tagline says that it is "the story leading up to" TOTK, which, compared to the "set 100 years in the past" tagline for Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity" off BOTW, is raising both hopes and anxiety about whether it will be fully in the TOTK timeline. Either will be interesting!
