"Puzzles" diverges in my mind, and I've never been able to resolve the back story to move on from the vignette. Sometimes I think Nick canceled the subscription to tell Natalie that the puzzle is solved, that he's found a cure. Other times I think Lacroix canceled the subscription, trying to rope Natalie in and use her in one more scheme to get control of Nick. I don't know which would make a better story.
