The "racy footage" rumor still pops up every now and then. I've watched every German first-season episode on both from-TV VHS and pro DVD, in both German and English, and the only real candidate I see is extra bumping and grinding in "Dance by the Light of the Moon."
"Dark Knight" is best in the longest cut. Nick and Schanke put together a few more clues, for a few fewer coincidences.
(Some of the translation/adaptation differences are interesting. In the "Loose Lips" scene in "For I Have Sinned," in German, the African Canadian phone operator lies to the caller by saying she's blonde, instead of lying by saying she has Barbie-scale measurements, as she does in English.)
