Kudos to the requesters for the prompts! I'm currently dwelling on Celli's Highlander prompt, and also Falcon_horus's Fleur prompt.
Because of the large difference in Nick and Fleur's ages, and the custom of sending boys away to be pages (and then squires and knights) in other households, Nick is unlikely to have grown up with his little sister in the kind of day-to-day way that would give lots of scope for childhood interactions between them. I can always have the household that Nick serves come to visit Nick's father's court, if needed! But I'm thinking up other times Nick and Fleur might have encountered each other in their most likely historical cultural context. Their father's death is one big possibility, although that wouldn't be quite what Falcon_horus has in mind.
