Are you sure it's 32:41? The bible version I have here ends with 27:34 and then Moses 4, Numeri begins. Do I own an abridged version?
The Roman 12:19 says: Verschafft Euch nicht selbst Euer Recht, liebe Freunde, sondern überlasst das dem Strafgericht Gottes. Denn es heißt: "Ich, der Herr habe mir die Vergeltung vorbehalten, ich selbst werde sie bestrafen".
This seems to be utterly different from the English bible text, and has nothing to do with the German FK translation. This bible, however is a 1992 translation into "today's German". Maybe originally it was different. I'll have to check our family bible when I visit my parents next week.
Found another copy of the New testament on my book shelf (from the Gideons). This is more like your English translation: Rächt Euch nicht selbst, meine Lieben, sondern gebt Raum dem Zorn Gottes; denn es steht geschrieben: "Die Rache it mein; ich will vergelten, spricht der Herr."
I still don't see any association to what Nick says. But I'm not an expert in that topic and wouldn't recognize a bible quote unless someone points it out to me as you did. I'm sure I also miss more Shakespeare quotes than recognize them for that matter (but at least I'm getting better on that). And I'm totally awed of people who can quote the play and line or the chapter and verse.
