Possibly. I must admit that I didn't recognize the reference either. I thought witness was just the person (der Zeuge) who witnesses something (blame that on Harrison Ford). I was unaware that it would also be the testimony. In German the commandmend says “falsches Zeugnis“ which I would have translated as “false testimony“.
