It's never too late to enjoy a story, of course. ;-) I think that 2016's FKFicFest, taken as a whole -- as an anthology, or a collection -- had a really interesting, encouraging, overall flavor of pushing at the edges of expected forms, genres and tropes. I was too tired to fully appreciate it or point it out at the time, but reflecting now, that trend makes me more hopeful for the future of FK fanfiction.
