I remember letters pages fondly! When curated with heart, they were indeed the best, so much more than anything today... although, come to think of it, Archaeology magazine, my last hard-copy subscription, still has a properly curated letters page in the printed copy. It's generally lovely, especially when readers successfully, respectfully challenge the conclusions of articles, or ask a question the journalist missed.

Not the same as comics. Or zines. :-) But still.
