skieswideopen loves the new BSG, and I respect her opinion highly! Many, many critics praised it, too.
My best friend V. adored the first couple of seasons, and would tell me all about it in our weekly phone call. But the series hit a point where V. couldn't watch it anymore. She similarly bailed on HL after the episode in which Charlie dies. She hit a wall with the new BSG for violence that she found too much like real-world violence, too much like things she and her family could face. I believe BSG was specifically violence against women.
