We share a fandom in Forever Knight, as you know. And Highlander, which you might not know.
My original, deepest, and most long-cherished fandom was Star Trek. However, I haven’t watched anything after the closing of Voyager, Enterprise, and DS-9.
I loved Babylon 5 and will re-watch the DVD’s while folding laundry.
And of course there’s Doctor Who, which I’ve followed since Tom Baker (MY Doctor!) in the original series. My favorite companion, even considering the newer series, is Adric, who no one remembers. I need to catch up on the latest Doctor, though. I like her, but not the writing or the stories so much that I’ve seen so far. Same problem with most of the Peter Capaldi series.
You introduced me to Forever (thanks!), which should have had more seasons, as everyone here agrees! And I think you introduced me to Nero Wolfe as well, but I’m not sure of the recollection.
Calvin & Hobbes! And also for me, the Far Side. And Dilbert.
I’m actually surprised we don’t share more interests. My others include Sherlock (including the original Sherlock Holmes stories), Criminal Minds, the Witcher, Stranger Things (until it got cringy adolescent), Supernatural (the first 8 seasons), and Kindred: the Embraced. Also the Queen’s Gambit.
Lord of the Rings, both books and movies. Likewise, the Hobbit.
Ian Fleming’s James Bond books and short stories. And all of the movies.
Dune. The first book only, and the most recent movie.
Monty Python.
C.S. Lewis’ Narnia series.
Mario Puzo’s The Godfather. And all 3 movies.
The Die Hard series of movies. Yes, it’s a Christmas movie!
Now that I think about it, there are more book series and authors that I follow passionately than movies or TV series, though they frequently overlap. I am a fan of Stephen King’s early writings, an intermittent fan of Dean Koontz, and a passionate fan of Umberto Eco, P. D. James and O. Henry.
I’m always in the market for a new book or author to discover. All recommendations welcome!
