I feel the same way as you about shorter fics with no real meat to them (and about being considerate in public online spaces). But, I realised they're perfectly easy to filter out on AO3. If someone doesn't like short fics - and I don't, as a reader - and they're seeing them, it's either their own fault or they'll actually be grateful because they're desperate for crumbs for whatever reason. I've been in that situation!
