The interpretation of and reaction to that episode that I had on first viewing aren't the same as today.
That's all for the best. As the saying goes, for any story worth rereading (or rewatching), you never step in the same stream twice; if it hasn't changed, you have. LK may or may not be worth rewatching on its own, but it is an important component of FK's whole.
Oh wow! Now that's something that's a little hard for me wrap my brain around.
Did the show get to finish its run on USA? For some unknown reason I was always under the impression that USA yanked the show midway through its run and the back half only aired in syndication. I have no idea where that came from, but I always operated under that assumption.
Third season did complete its run on the USA cable channel, absolutely! Many people saw "Last Knight" for the first time on USA.
The first airings of first season aired on CBS only in the US, I believe; second season in syndication only in the US, for sure; and third season concurrently on the USA cable channel and in syndication on broadcast stations in the US.
Not too very long after "Last Knight" first aired, though, TPTB moved FK's reruns from USA to its sister property, the Sci-Fi Channel (which still spelled its name correctly at that time ~grin~).
Now that was an evening that blew a lot of fans' minds. I know that I was stunned for at least a week—by the sheer awfulness of the writing even more than the mass slaughter.
1. Oh, wow, 22 years? Sheesh, makes me realize I've got underwear older than that. ;-) 2. SyFy -- Or, as I think of it: siffy! (Ugh!) 3. In MY universe, LK doesn't exist. Period. Nick is still trying to become human, Natalie is still helping him, and LaCroix is still a son-of-a-B (and Jeanette is lurking around somewhere). :-)
