FK Recommendation August 2008

What's good?  For August, I'm delighted to get to turn the recommendations project spotlight on PJ's "Encounter with Destiny."  This elegant romantic adventure is mostly flashback (1917), and invigorates a tried-and-true FK scenario with the energy of Nick and Lacroix's contention and the spark of a worthy neck-of-the-week.  (It also offers a unique glimpse of Natalie's grandmother beyond her sins.)

What's new?  In July, the only story to reach fkfic-l was my new Natalie piece, "A Delicate Balance."  (Will I bore you all if I say again, please come home to the list, and bring fiction with you?)

Hrm. I was going to comment here about your "come home to the list" terminology, but I think this is getting long. I may post to my LJ instead.

Perhaps I should have said, rather, that I wish there were new stories to read, and that sometimes I worry about the survival of the fandom.  But after midnight and very tired, it sounded like the same thing in my head.

I'm sorry if the phrase was poorly choosen.
