Nintendo Switch 2 "Welcome Tour" game is not fun

I'd like to recommend against the "Welcome Tour" game on the Nintendo Switch 2. Judging from the first level only, it's not worth its modest price. It's not worth your time.

It's not fun.

That should be the mic drop, but I will add the key detail that it doesn't seem to have a track for people wholly new to the ecosystem. It seems to presume that the user is already familiar with the Switch 1 and wants to know what is better about the Switch 2.

This seems like the stupidest design! You'd think new users would be the people who would want the console walkthrough most of all, while users moving over from the previous version probably lean more heavily towards power users and/or people who already know the system pretty well. (Even apart from the unfun aspects.)

Yes, I really expected (and, frankly, wanted) a starter "baby steps" lobby on how to use the device in the most basic ways, like how to save and exit the game, and how to move with the ordinary controls, but the game leaves you to figure that all out yourself (and the set-up screens on the device skip explaining those things, too, so it's not like it's pre-covered outside the game).

This is my first Nintendo device of my very own, not shared or borrowed, so I thought that the "Welcome Tour" would be right for me, even though the gamer fandom had sniffed at it. I should have listened to them. ;-)

To be very cheeky, it's almost like they played "Astro's Playground" and thought, "What if we did that, but without any of the characters or fun?"
