FK Recently: What You Guys Have Been Up To (04/01/14-04/30/14)

I'm running quite late with this newsletter again, I'm afraid. Sorry! But for the month of April, in Forever Knight, in my corners of social journaling, here are the items that I spotted:

Ficathons, Fests and Communities

• fkficfest/fkficfest, the annual FK ficathon, posted its 2014 schedule! Sign-ups run May 21 through June 7. Stories come due on August 9.
• rarewomen, the fic exchange focused on underwritten women characters, continued busily throughout April (and has since released!).
• jukebox_fest/jukebox_fest, a multifandom music-inspired fiction exchange, has stories due June 16.
• not_primetime/not_primetime, a multifandom secret fiction exchange for medium-sized fandoms, has stories due July 3.
• Night on Fic Mountain, an annual fic exchange for small, rare and inactive fandoms, has stories due June 15.
• bestthingever, a fanwork recommendation community, is featuring erotica in May.
• As always, the recommendation communities fanart_recs, fancake and het_reccers could use reccing volunteers.

Fanfiction
0 FK works on the AO3 currently show April 2014 as their publication date. (Happily, May has 3 stories so far.)

Meta (Discussion, Essays, Etc.)

• 4/05: greerwatson created more faction icons. This batch comes out of the recent FKFic-L War game.
• 4/23: pj1228 noted that I'd posted the schedule for this year's fkficfest/fkficfest and then mused on her FK fanfiction output in recent years, and on a recent FK fan get-together that she attended.
• 4/29: lastscorpion played the "Least Popular on the AO3" meme, in which she listed her least-hit, least-kudoed, least-commented stories. Sadly, that includes 3 of her fine FK tales: "Render Unto Caesar" (Janette), "After the End" (Janette and Lacroix), and "Vampire Pirates? More Likely Than You Think" (Nick, Natalie, Lacroix). (I don't know how to feel about this meme.)

Actors
4/29: pj1228 shared some actor-activity announcements and updates:

• Geraint Wyn Davies is playing Antony in Antony and Cleopatra (8/03-9/20) and the Cook in Mother Courage and her Children (5/15-9/21) at this year's Stratford Festival.
• Nigel Bennet is on stage in The Last Confession at the Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto until 6/01. (Then the production goes on tour.) PJ links to a review and a schedule.
• The previous Uncle-Unlimited.org (updates on Nigel Bennet's career) has relocated to Uncle-unlimited.blogspot.de.
