FK Recently: What You Guys Have Been Up To (12/01/15-12/31/15)

Happy new year!

For the month of December, in my corners of social journaling, here are the Forever Knight items that I happened to see:

Ficathons, fests and communities that welcome FK

• fancake, an ongoing multifandom recommendation community, is kicking off the new year with an "Old Fandoms" round. Qualifying fandoms premiered 10 or more years ago. FK qualifies!
• snowflake_challenge, an annual multifandom meta-prompt challenge, runs through 1/15. You can join in (or drop off) at any time. The prompts are FK-friendly.
• fandom_stocking, an annual multifandom treat fest, continues taking fills until 1/06. Fills may be stories, poems, icons, recommendations, warm wishes... whatever you like! Here're the stockings with FK wishes.
• Recommendation communities that would welcome you posting about your FK favorites include: fanart_recs, het_reccers, gensplosion, recshelf and fancake. (Know more FK-friendly rec communities? Tell me about them!)

Fanfiction
3 of the 633 FK stories on the AO3 show posting dates in this period:

• "Trumpet St Peter's Angels by greerwatson (~4K words; G)
• "Instagramming a Myth" by andveryginger (~1K words; G)
• "New King of the Vampires" by Dragonsteamfan (crossover with Subspecies) (WIP, 19K+ words; T)

Meta (essays, discussion, etc.)

• Under lock, someone noted that "TV-eh?" was polling for "[Canadian] Show You'd Like to See Brought Back" (among other things), but that FK wasn't an available option.
• Under lock, someone pointed out the fannish product "Adventure Scents." They seem to have scents appropriate to various FK characters: Natalie, Lacroix, Nick, Screed, Tracy...

Wow! This is amazing. You are very dedicated to search for all this and put it together every month. I'm not on DW very much, but if you don't mind, I'd like to 'friend' you (see, that's the LJ term, I can't remember the DW term..subscribe, maybe), so I can keep up with it. As it is, I've never heard of fancake, so already have something I want to look at.

In ordinary conversation, "friend" is as acceptable on DW as on LJ. :-) You're right that "subscribe" is the label on the links and in the FAQs on DW.

I'm on both (user name="brightknightie"> and <user name="brightknightie" site="livejournal.com") platforms; please feel free to friend or unfriend as you like! If you're at all likely to ever chat about FK on your journal, I'd love to friend you back. FK and FKdom have always meant a lot to me. The monthly round-up posts (tagged "recently") are the least I can do. :-)
