Proofreading Shame

Just found a typo in the opening sentence of "Starwort" as posted to the ficathon.  Edited it immediately.  Covered in embarrassment.  No wonder only two people read it.  Aaaargh.

Inserted 04/23/08 11:23 PM:  Three more typos now rooted out.  After posting to fkfic-l.  Sigh.

Inserted 05/12/08 04:51 PM:  And another one.  C'mon typos!  Come out and face me!  ;-)

Bah. That's not it in my case! I've been waiting 'til I've had the time to sit down and devour it all in one chunk!

Oh, good -- you'll get to see it corrected! I'm writhing in grammar-geek humiliation.

Ages ago, when there was more new FK fiction per week than there is now per year, I wouldn't finish reading a story if I encountered more than three errors before the end of the third paragraph. I perhaps fear my karma from that old triage method.

Edited to Add: And thank you for planning to read it! I appreciate it!

I didn't notice it. It's possible I would have had I not been eager to devour the story, as well as having a whole collection of others I wanted to read, but I seriously doubt it put people off.

Unlike Havoc, I was fortunate enough to have the ficathon go live on a day when I had planned to have nothing expected of me but to lump on a couch as a Vicodin-happy chipmunk. :-D

>"...but I seriously doubt it put people off."

I'm glad to hear it was invisible to others as well as to me. :-) I'm even more glad that it is now fixed!

>"Vicodin-happy chipmunk"

You were indeed a very busy reader and commentator that weekend after your wisdom teeth were pulled, I noticed! I bet that your prompt attention and thoughtful comments made the ficathon for a lot of authors.
