Stories for me to remember to look at via Yuletide 2016
I haven't yet read any, but I see that Yuletide 2016 yielded:
I'm particularly looking forward to the D&DC tales. Falling prey to prejudging a fanfic by its tags and summary, I think they look congenial. I shall see... :-)
- 3 new D&DC stories (and there's 1 that posted independently in October, since the last time I checked)
- 3 new FK stories (and there's 1 that posted independently on Christmas Day)
- 0 new BSG78 stories (although 3 posted independently in November and December)
- 0 new YB stories (although someone included it in a mass crossover in October; otherwise, it last had a story of any kind in 2013)
- 14 new Galavant stories
- 13 new Pokémon Go stories (I didn't know PokéGo fanfic was a thing. But OF COURSE it is.)

And there is a D&DC story in the Madness collection here if you didn't see it.

I think that I may personally skip these FK stories, at least for now. Making what is likely a foolish economy in my available reading time by prejudging fanfic by its tags and summaries... I see that they're evidently about things I don't wish to dwell on. ~shrug~

I think it was done an injustice by the author's note, which gives the impression there will be a lot of gore. Yes, it's true that there's a murder case; and, in this instance, the bodies have died of exsanguination. As a result, there's speculation as why, if the criminal is not a vampire, such a thing might have been done. On the other hand, the emphasis is definitely on the investigation, with the focus on finding clues and lots of chit-chat between the investigative team.
If you don't want to risk it, though, that's quite understandable. No one wants your holidays spoiled.

I think that you may be on to something with this. That opening note has a certain tone that resonated with me as if the author perhaps wasn't highly familiar with FK fandom's norms (though I see now that this is actually her second FK story).
