This story is so second-season that it makes my imagination ring with my favorite HL season. The character voices are remarkably true. And, this time,* second season is only the beginning.
If second-season isn't your bag, there are several neat Richie stories, an epic post-apocalyptic Amanda&Methos adventure, and many others, with more to come.
* I've purchased all the "Imagine" novels, including the new one, but I haven't yet read any.

ETA: It won't be hard to find the post-apocalyptic Amanda and Methos story. The title isn't subtle: Apocalypsis Mundi. (I have a feeling it wasn't meant to be. It's not like it wasn't in the tags.)
Double ETA: I'm on an earlier time zone than BK, so I hope she forgives me jumping in here! I'm both not awake myself and migraining, so thank you for understanding!

You're also exactly right that a future-fic starring Amanda and Methos would not normally call my name. :-) Yet I thought on sight of the title and tags that this one could be an exception, and it is. It actually has all sorts of things that I like -- from swordplay to canon references to taking death and grief seriously -- and does some things with Amanda and Methos interpretationally that surprised me in good ways. (It does have one specific line in the whole long story that I personally absolutely "nope" out of as an interpretation, but, hey, if I want to counter, I should write my own story about that interpretation!)

Also, when you read the novels, will you post your reactions to them? I would be very curious!
Did you read the Ceirdwyn story that was released yesterday? I quite enjoyed it, but I need to give it another read to digest it properly.

Yes, absolutely; I'll report back on the "Imagine" novels! I've been liking the thought of them very much, perhaps so much that it's discouraging me from actually reading them in fear of disappointment...
Yes, thank you, I'm very lucky: this gift story delights me. :-)
