Waybackexchange (exchange ficathon for older fandoms)

waybackexchange is on for 2020. Its fandom-eligibility review period ends January 28, so I thought I should share a heads-up sooner than later. Their nominations will be January 28 to February 11, and sign-ups February 16 to March 1, with works due April 30.

This exchange ficathon is for canons that ended more than 10 years ago (for this round, then: canons that closed December 31, 2010, or earlier). Most of my best-beloved fandoms are manifestly eligible: Forever Knight (1992-96), Dungeons & Dragons cartoon (1983-85), Battlestar Galactica (1978-79), Young Blades (2005).

I'm not positive about Highlander. HL in "all media" certainly crosses that line. Still, I think that the TV show (1992-98 + The Raven (1998-99) + Endgame (2000)) should be considered to have been closed for at least that long. Likely, HL gets the same decision as the older Trek series, which have been eligible.

This game requires players to request and offer at least 4 nominated fandoms.

I'm very glad to have a new incarnation of OldSchoolFic. Whether I can play or not, myself, depends on so much, but first on the nominations. Needing to request and offer 4 nominated fandoms... I'm no longer keen to offer secondary fandoms just to fill out a prompt slate, though I was genuinely happy to do so years ago, in events back when...
