Signal boost for an eBay sale claiming to be CD selling a piece of FK memorabilia (?)

[personal profile] nicholas_lucien posted that she saw a listing on eBay where the seller says she's Catherine Disher and that she's selling a jacket that, supposedly, GWD designed and had made for her and a few other cast members. Bidding has started at $500 CAD (~$350 USD) and will go for 8 days. [personal profile] nicholas_lucien is seeking thoughts on the matter.
"Forever Knight Cast Jacket. / I played Natalie on the cult favourite, 90's vampire/cop show Forever Knight. During either season 2 or season 3, Geraint Wyn Davies ( Nick ) had just a few jackets made for key cast that he designed himself. This one was made for me. It was made by Roots ( so very solid, quality construction ) and has mottled grey, leather sleeves ( the leather hasn't aged- it was designed to look like that ). Its in excellent shape- its hardly ever been worn and has been in storage for the last 20 years. Although I am very sentimental about the show, I am determined to get rid of my storage room and this jacket should be worn and enjoyed and not sit in a storage bin for another 20 years!!! Its a unisex, varsity style and the label says Large- I'm assuming its a women's large because the snaps are on the left side."

I am not an expert on eBay, memorabilia, or Catherine Disher's likely decluttering choices. I suppose, worst case, it's a nice, fan-made jacket with a story; best case, it's exactly what it says on the tin.

That's pretty cool! It looked credible to me, but even if it's not, the base price isn't especially high for what the item is.

Oh, that is really interesting! I hope it ends up with someone who'd wear it. Even if it's not really what it's supposed to be, that's actually not a bad price for rare vintage merch from a 30-year-old show.

She's going to be at C2E2 in Chicago this year; someone can ask her then. I've been thinking of going, but her autographs are brutally pricey. Well, $75 or $80 a pop, which is about as pricey proportionately as when I was in college and broke, and autographs were $20 each.

ETA: Or ask her on Ebay for proof - a pic of her with the jacket!

I cannot see how an actor who goes to conventions and gets paid to provide autographs and pictures with herself wouldn't be up on issues of legitimacy, but she might be just that naive.

I'll let you know if I get one! It's a great jacket, but is it a great $300+ USD / $500+ CD jacket? A modern wool and leather sports jacket is at least $100 less than the price (or the price as it stood yesterday).
