Two little gameplay instructions updates this year
The 2023
fkficfest consolidated gameplay post (rules, schedule, how-to, collection links, etc.) is now available. Read all about it.
While almost everything is the same this year as the past few years (minimums: 500 words, 51% FK if crossover, 1 prompt), I did add 2 new paragraphs:

While almost everything is the same this year as the past few years (minimums: 500 words, 51% FK if crossover, 1 prompt), I did add 2 new paragraphs:
- Clarification: A "Tip" under "Rules:"
A writer may address a prompt by fulfilling it, subverting it, making it a red herring, or any other approach by which a reasonable reader will clearly find the prompt's influence in the story. It's part of the game that while we hold the prompts in common, each application is unique. - Addition: Question #6 in the FAQ under "Gameplay:"
May I use a large language model (LLM) like Google Bard or ChatGPT to help me write?
We're all looking forward to reading your insightful new take on FK! We're not as interested in reading a predictive-text chat-bot mix and match takes that are already out there. If you want to use an LLM, please consider using it only to help you brainstorm or outline, not to draft.
