FKFicFest nominations in progress (through Thursday 3/07)

In case anyone missed it over the weekend, fkficfest is collecting prompt nominations now through this Thursday, March 7, at 10pm Pacific Time. Any community member may nominate up to 5 prompts (scenarios, quotations, tropes, single words, strings of words, what-if questions, etc.) of 1-30 words each. Nominations are not a promise to play. You may re-nominate previously nominated prompts that did not win a pool slot. Share your nominations.

This year, we're experimenting with electing the final prompt pool via single-elimination brackets. (Hypothesis: This will be more fun and more transparent for more people.) We'll rank ("seed") the brackets with a poll from March 8 to March 11, and then have successive daily eliminations polls for as long as it takes to whittle the pool down to 4 final prompts (likely 3-4 days). Read the game plan.

Stories come due no later than May 25 on the AO3 and start releasing on May 27 (US Memorial Day).


(At the moment, we have 6 prompt nominations from 2 people. I personally have a Notepad file of possible prompts that I've been playing with for a few days, mostly of the "scenario" variety, and hope to submit mine on Monday night. We shall see! I'm planning short countdown/reminder admin posts for the community for Tuesday and Thursday.)

Thanks for the reminder. I totally missed the original post. Expect last minute nominations from me. Due to RL family issues I need to take care of, my visits here were rather infrequent recently.
