3 weeks for Dreamwidth event

3weeks4dreamwidth runs April 25 to May 15 this year. The event celebrates the anniversary of, and promotes activity on, Dreamwidth, this lovely platform that you're enjoying right now.

Dreamwidth is my social media. I love this text-focused, algorithm-free, async format; it feels really comfortable and accessible to me. (I feel like I understand it, which is just not at all true of other platforms.) I love getting to keep up and interact with all of you! I wish only that more folks might feel like Dreamwidth is a place where they would like to engage these days, in general and overall, but especially fannishly. ♥

You? You're still here, evidently! What joy does DW bring you these days?

That I see w ide range of people who understand the importance of a journal with more permanency than micro blogs offer.

Most of my friends on here are from Ye Olden Days (or Ye Olden Fandoms), and I love to keep in touch with them regardless of our divergent interests. I love tracking my own life on here, and being able to see things from years ago. I don't have a very good memory, so it's neat to see what I thought/was interested in/etc from the past. And I love long-form blogging. I do bluesky/mastodon and tumblr as well. I get different things from each of them. But I've had a livejournal/dreamwidth for 24 years exactly tomorrow(!) and it's very special to me.
