Icon Refresh

Ages ago, I decided that the conceit of the "Bright Knight" logo on my FK userpic icons was a bit silly.  It took time to re-make and re-load them all!  But I now have a completely refreshed set.  I'm very pleased with the way many came out (e.g. Faith, Vachon's Crew, Janette), although others fall short and frustrate me (e.g. Guest Star, Kids).

I still intend my loaded userpic icons for myself alone; please forgive my arrogance in supposing this needs to be said, but they're not up for grabs.  Instead, of course, I've made dozens of other userpic icons that are meant for anyone!  If you're in the market, check out these assortments: Schanke, Bechdel Test-passing, Janette and Nick, Fleur, Seasons and Factions, Natalie.  (Or, if you're on my f-list/r-page, feel free to request a custom icon; I enjoy making them, and I learn the craft in the doing.)

I don't think it was silly! I do think it was a little hard to discern, though, given the pixel size limitation. :) Either way, congratulations on completing the majority of the remake in a way that pleases you.

Thank you on both counts! Perhaps I should have solicited opinions before succumbing to imitating the majority. :-)

If I gain the design skills to work around the size challenges, I may try it again then; perhaps a simpler "Bright Knight" logo would be the key.

I think it would make a lovely logo as its own icon, should you be inclined to go that route. Good luck, whatever you decide!

It's actually my existing default icon (used here). I use it on all my FK fiction posts. Or did you mean something else?

Your Janette icon is gorgeous, and the faith one is very striking--nice choice of cap and nicely cropped and coloured.

I find FK hard to work with when making icons--it's very dark, and the quality of the caps isn't always fantastic. I think you did a lovely job! :)

Thank you very much! I agree; FK photography (especially first season) is unusually dark, even for something set largely at night and indoors. Some shots that are very resonant in the storyline are impossible to brighten and sharpen and work out as photo icons; they could be reimagined as drawings or paintings, perhaps...
