MyOldFandom sign-ups extended

The mod for [community profile] myoldfandom has extended sign-ups until noon on Monday, March 28 (because Easter Triduum observances might interfere with sign-ups for some).

At this time, I see few requests that I could fill, myself: a D&DC request for a no name, no lines, spear-bearer character (sadly, no other options); an HL request that seems to have listed Duncan/Tessa by mistake (the details specify that the requester wants only slash or gen); HL's Richie or Cierdwyn for ArgentumLS (I don't dare offer Duncan or Darius; the requests show that people want what I can't give); and maybe, if I stretch hard, the Tron (1982) request.

I'm still considering playing. But I'm a bit concerned.

I'm starting to think that I should instead see whether people might be up for some sort of mini events. For example, "If Malinaldarose will write me BSG78, I'll write her... something she wants." ;-) Okay, so that's where it always breaks down, at every scale, finding people who can write what the others want to read. I should probably follow PJ's lead...

There's still plenty of time. However, I'd suggest signing up, because there're undoubtedly other people who are also waiting to see if they're matchable. You can always delete the sign up later.

Incidentally, I'm not matchable yet, either as writer or recipient.

Until sign-ups close, you can delete your sign up without any mod intervention. It's an accepted practice. I did it for shipswap when I saw I wasn't matchable.

I can't see any offer info beyond the numbers. However, I know what I requested and offered, so I know that right now the only fandom I could match on is HL. Since I do a lot of exchanges, I'm familiar with a lot of the other players' preferences. None of the other players are likely to be offering Richie or Ceirdwyn, and I figure both my Methos pairings are obscure enough that no one is offering them. So, I guess I'm not *certain* about matchability, so much as reasonably confident in the odds.

Re: the person requesting Duncan/Tessa: it occurred to me that there might be a definitional conflict. You think the request is an accident because their other requests are for gen or slash stories. I wonder if they're treating "gen" as a category that includes non-explicit stories about pairings. That's how I learned the term, and it's a definition I still catch myself using.
