Ficathons, fests and communities that welcome FK

• fkficfest/fkficfest stories are due 9/24 for release starting 9/26.
• artfeverfest, a fest and exchange for visual fanart, has nominations through 9/11, sign-ups through 9/28, due 11/06.
• fancake features "slow-burn romance" recommendations this month.
• crossover_prompt is a new, fortnightly-prompt community for crossovers.
• ladiesbingo, a bingo challenge for female characters' relationships, is open through 3/31/17.
• femslashex, an f/f exchange, has sign-ups through 9/07, with assignments out 9/10, due 10/22, releasing 10/28.
• yuletide_admin announced that 2016 nominations are 9/09-9/16, sign-ups 10/01-10/10, with assignments out 11/01.
• Members of yuletide announced a nominations trading spreadsheet and a brainstorming/fandom-promoting post for Yuletide 2016.
• Recommendation communities that would welcome you posting about your FK favorites include: fanart_recs, het_reccers, gensplosion, recshelf and fancake. (Know more FK-friendly rec communities? Tell me about them!)

Archive of our Own (AO3) Summary: 0 of the 714 FK stories on the AO3 show posting dates in this period (but that's 2 more works than showed at this time last month, so I presume backdating).

Hey, I noticed you haven't done a proper "FK Recently" roundup since this one. Are things ok with you? Or did you just forget? Post-Fest burnout is completely understandable, too. :)

I love these things, though. It's like getting a virtual magazine of FK stuff every month or so. :)

Posting a new bulletin has been a to-do. I didn't realize that it had been quite this long. I'll try to make a fresh start on February 1.

I believe that your post about moving a community from LJ to DW is the first FK content (other than fiction on the AO3) in many months.

Yes, burnout has been a factor. Last January (2016), I moved to a new team at work. It's a good team, and I'm grateful, but it does have an intense busy season. I tried to schedule FKFicFest 2016 around that season. I failed. They overlapped badly. Running the game, playing the game, and keeping on the ball at work, all together, was much too much.

I don't blame you for feeling burnt out over that. Juggling the running of fandom things and major IRL stuff at the same time is a lot of work, and I've been one of the many to benefit from your efforts on the fandom side of things.

If you need help with the next Fest, I'd be happy to lend a hand. I know it's a lot of work for just one person, and you haven't had anyone to pick up the slack when you get benched. So, if you need it, I'm there. If not, that's totally fine too. :)
