For the month of August, in my corners of social journaling, here are the Forever Knight items that I happened to see:

Fannish charity fundraisers

• harvey_fanaid is fundraising via fanwork creation/sponsorships, including auctions, buy-it-nows, and custom requests, through the end of September. (senmut's are the only offers I recognize so far.)
• RevelCon, an annual fan-run Houston zine/fic convention, is fundraising for ConvoyOfHope.

Ficathons, fests & communities that welcome FK

• trickortreatex, a Halloween exchange, has nominations through 9/09, sign-ups 9/11-18, due-date 10/24, and reveals on Halloween. FK is nominated.
• yuletide time has come again. Check out the Master Index Post or Fandoms Brainstorming.
• ladiesbingo, a challenge featuring relationships (all kinds) between women, runs September-March. (I've recognized chelseagirl, lightbird, senmut, and muccamukk among the sign-ups so far.)
• fffc, a weekly "flash fiction" community, is holding a special September event with daily (rather than weekly) prompts.
• picture_prompt_fun is a weekly picture-prompt fiction community.
• Recommendation communities recap: fanart_recs, het_reccers, gensplosion, recshelf, underheard, and fancake. (More FK-friendly rec forums? Let me know!)

• 8/10: nicholas_lucien updated us on the filming of the upcoming movie. (Why they paid to use the FK title and character names to apparently reincarnate Angel: The Series remains unknown.)
• 8/15: nicholas_lucien wished Ben Bass a (belated) happy birthday.
• 8/19: pj1228 announced the sequel ("One Death Too Many") to the story she wrote for this year's FKFicFest ("One Loss Too Many"), and promised a concluding third installment.

Right now I'm writing a Big Bang fic for a different Canadian show, so it will be a while before I take advantage of these, but it's good to have them at the ready.

(BTW, I am on Team RevelCon for Convoy of Hope, so an extra TYK for promoting that.)

Among FK-friendly gift exchanges, the annual Trick or Treat Exchange (trickortreatex) is CURRENTLY IN NOMINATIONS. In fact, someone else has already added Forever Knight to the tag set, with Nick and LaCroix. I plan to add more characters in the next couple of days.

Trick or Treat is a Halloween exchange. However, stories can be either "trick" (i.e. spooky/dark in some way) or "treat" (lighter or romantic). The minimum length is only 300 words, though people do often writer longer stories. As the mod puts it, "On Halloween children typically get small pieces of candy from adults. Based on this it is only appropriate that a Halloween based exchange have a lower requirement than other exchanges."

Nominations close on 8 September. Sign-ups are 11-18 September. Assignments are due on October 24, with reveals on Halloween. Author reveals are a week later.

You may nominate up to 6 fandoms, with up to 6 characters each. The tag set is here for you to look at, so you can see what other fandoms have already been nominated. This is also the page you use to add your own nominations (button at the top right).

Once sign-ups begin, you may request 3-10 fandoms with 1-10 characters. Of course, you need only write one story for your assigned recipient. However, many people write treats. Everyone's requests are visible so you can read them for inspiration.

I took part in Trick or Treat last year; but, although I offered FK, no one else requested it.   :(   Maybe better luck this year?
