Happy new year! For the month of December, in my corners of social journaling, here are the Forever Knight items that I happened to see:

Ficathons, fests & communities that welcome FK

• fandom_stocking (open gifting) stuffing continues through 1/05, with reveals on 01/06. Update: Extended through 01/19!
• snowflake_challenge (journaling challenge) posts prompts through 01/15. Fills are open-ended.
• fandomweekly (fic challenges w/voting) relaunched on 01/02.
• middleagedships (comment-fic challenge) is ongoing (no deadlines).
• historium (discussion) is for "all historical fandoms." FK doesn't quite meet their requirements, but might slide through in context.
• meta_warehouse (discussion/analysis) is a new community.
• 100prompts (fic challenges) is a new community.
• consentevent_comm (prompt challenge) is a new event highlighting consent. It opened 01/01.
• fandomtrumpshate (charity) is a fanworks auction with proceeds going to progressive causes. Sign-ups run 01/06-02/01. The auction runs 02/26-03/01.
• story_works (challenge) is a challenge on the theme of "change." Open until 01/31.

I hope so! Fingers crossed. At least one of our regular FKFicFest players is a mystery fan who should appreciate the crossover (though that player is not online as often as ... us).

I'm afraid that your "The Long Forever Knight" may have gone up at a perhaps inopportune moment...? I have an RSS feed set to notify me of all FK fics newly posted (that is, not backdated) on the AO3, but I didn't see this one's posting notification come through at all -- I suspect that it was buried by the flood of Fandom Stocking stockings around that time. (I did see your separate mention, of course, and went back to look for it then.) And perhaps all the people working for the holiday exchanges were too busy writing to read much at that time...?

(I should unsub from Fandom Stocking during the "stocking hanging" phase and resub after. This isn't the first year I've missed something among the stockings.)

Oh, I wasn't really that fretted. I know it's not a huge fandom these days, and most of the friends I have who are in it would have read this story 20 years ago! Anyway, not one but two zines wanted to reprint it, back in the day, so that says something.

I think it went up at a time when I was burned out from the semester and worried about my dad and paragraph coding something was nice busywork for me!
