FKFicFest current queue count

I just loaded my own story. The current queue has 14 stories by 8 authors, if I'm counting correctly. As usual, while the official deadline is 11:59pm (Pacific Time) tonight, I won't actually stay up late and lock the door. (But please don't be any later than noon Sunday unless you've arranged it with me in advance. I will enforce that and we'll both be sad.)

I feel like we've never had this many multiples -- that is, this many authors submitting more than one story. Of course I'm delighted that folks are having fun, but I am also baffled. I'm wondering, was it this year's prompts, or calendar, or something else we should learn from in some way...? Well, we'll learn more when we get to read the stories, for sure!

Things go like that. Remember a couple of years ago when there were almost no stories with Natalie. And another time when two different authors came up with stories with the same characters in almost the same situation. (I think both of us used Litovuterine in our stories. :-) )
