FK Fanfic: "Send My Love" (a Christmas Story)
So far, I've rolled this fanfiction retrospective in reverse chronological order. But today, in a seasonal mood, I'm going to leapfrog ten years in order to reach my one Christmas fanfiction, "Send My Love." I actually wrote it on Independence Day, a little Christmas in July. (It's the first of three "Where are they now?" pieces I've posted in the past two years -- and by my standards, that's a bit of a kick!)

I love love love Nat's emphatic response to Janette's "Should he not have told you?" and Janette's email. I totally didn't expect that she was there at Nick's request till I got to the email and, OH, how perfect...and her telling him she would be honest with him, all because of Nat's comments and her all-night thoughts on them...
The PERFECT descriptions of Janette and Natalie's ironic, "You haven't changed a bit" and Nat's "no, I'm not going to feel self-conscious" bit while going through a laundry list of how she looks and what she's wearing... Really strong visuals from the post office and hotel room.
This is FANTASTIC and especially believable in what it doesn't say and leaves to question.
Wow.

Perhaps curiously, the story idea began as a response to a song on the radio by a male singer, so the first image of the story was from Nick's perspective, though he ended up present only by implication.
Thank you very much for your encouraging response!
