Ficathons, Fests and Communities

• the_fic_trader will hold its annual multifandom "Gen in January" fest. Submit prompts by 12/15.
• ghostinsweats is hosting a multifandom "Ghost Story Commentficathon." (Ghosts are canonical in FK!)
• fandom_stocking is on for 2011! See the stocking submission post (and timeline).
• rarewomen is an exchange ficathon starring rare women characters in big fandoms, and any women characters in small fandoms (like FK). Sign-up 01/01-01/07; assignments out 01/10; stories due 02/24.

Fanfiction

• 11/17: twilight2000 posted "She Never Left" (G, ~2K words) for the 2011 "Fall Fandom Free-for-all."
• 11/12: senmut posted "Saved Bottles" (G, 375 words), her thousandth AO3 piece.
• 11/01: havocthecat posted "I Must Down to the Seas Again" (Unrated, ~7K words) on LJ and on AO3, and announced it in her LJ and fk_fanfiction. (This was to have been her fkficfest 2011 story, on which she had to default for health reasons.)
• 11/01: 1_mad_squirrel posted "All Souls Day" (Teen, 102 words) in last_writes.
• 6 FK works on the AO3 currently show November 2011 publication dates. None are new to me.

Meta (Chatter, Discussion and Essays)

• 11/23: [Locked] shared that she's written ~10K words of a new FK story.
• 11/08: havocthecat proposed fusing FK and My Little Pony.
• 11/04: rhi mentioned Vachon and Reese in a fannish5 response.
• 11/02: celli recommended "I Must Down to the Seas Again" by havocthecat.
• 11/01: elistaire referenced news about synthesizing blood proteins from rice, and suggested it as an FK story prompt.

Actors

• 11/30: [Locked] noted that Stratford has announced that its 2012 Cymbeline will include NB as Roman general Caius Lucius; GWD will also appear.
• 11/20: [Locked] reviewed the "Going On" performance starring GWD and his wife.
• 11/15: pj1228 recommended the TV series Murdoch Mysteries, noting that GWD plays Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in season two, and NB is in seasons four and (likely) five.
• 11/12: pj1228 reviewed the 2011 Stratford Richard III, with NB as Lord Hastings and Andrew Gillies (Felix Twist) as Lord Stanley.

Airings
Chiller has FK scheduled for 9AM to 3PM (Eastern Time) on Monday 12/12! "Dark Knight" through "False Witness."
