We're 5 days into this year's fkficfest/fkficfest! That means 5 stories have been released -- including the one I wrote, hey! -- with a full week yet to go! Stock up for your weekend reading delight from this year's collection!

Players, quick reminders:

• Once your story releases, you can, if you choose, update your upload date to your reveal date. This re-dates your story, temporarily popping your story to the top of the chronological listings on the AO3, potentially getting you (and the fest) more readers!
• The FKFicFest collection is for our game only, not for miscellaneous FK fanfiction (there are other communities for that!).
• Do mention the stories and promote the fest on your journal and other social media haunts! Encourage people to come read the story you wrote, the story written for your prompts, and all the stories!

All the stories I've read have been wonderful so far. The weekend set me back a bit in the schedule. I'm still busy with Friday's story.
I'd also like to commend you on the order in which the stories were released so far. A good mix between humorous and disturbing scenes.

I'm sorry that the weekend didn't turn out to be a good reading time for you!

I used to think that the weekends were the very best time for the longer stories, because people would be at home rather than at work and would have more time to read. Now, after looking at this weekend's hits, I more and more suspect that most people don't read on the weekends, but rather read during the work week. (I don't understand the logistics, but the evidence seems to support the hypothesis.)

Good luck catching up at a pace that feels good to you!

I'm glad that the order so far has worked for you. To some degree, that's luck, because I don't pre-read the stories in detail; I arrange them based on their header information, prompts, and a very quick, shallow skim. (And then some people go and change their stories while they're waiting in the queue, anyway. ~grin~)

We seem to have both a lot of post-LK and a lot of humor this year. There are fewer stories than usual moving in the "episode-like" and "fitting into canon" spaces.

I'm probably not the average person, but I'm hardly ever home on weekends. I usually leave Friday evening and return Sunday evening. Those weekends I stay home, i often have visitors staying from Friday to Sunday. So again no time for internet. But those few weekends I Stay home and don't get visitors, those are of course perfect for longer stories. So it's rather unpredictable in my case.

I had hoped to finish reading Friday's story tonight, but then my car broke down and I had to be towed all the way home. scream Now it's past midnight and I really need to sleep.

(Friday's story is more up your alley than mine, as a matter of individual, personal, interpretational preferences. I'm sure its author will love to hear from you when you've had a chance to read it, and that you'll find parts of it very appealing.)
