Soon, I'll post our annual [community profile] fkficfest pre-game poll, to ask when and how you'd like best to play.

Beyond the defaults, like dates, what kinds of questions should the poll ask? What gameplay topics should we ponder? How can we make the game more fun and more accessible? Please reply here to let me know. (For example, for some years, I've tried very hard to cross-match players, so people don't get the same matches year after year. Has that been a mistake? Would players be happier with rerun matches?)

The pre-game poll won't stay open too very long this year. Perhaps just a week? I feel that it's most important that the poll reach our current community members and past players. Then, after we've done our best to make things work for the existing community, we can broadcast far and wide, inviting everyone to come join in.

Thank you!

Yes, I'm afraid that many of the [community profile] fkficfest matches are challenging this year. I'm truly very sorry. If any players would like a swap, I'll facilitate!

Perhaps we should switch to machine-matching, like Yuletide?

[community profile] fkficfest matches will start emailing as soon as I post this.

I'm sorry; it really did take this long. I went to mass and a movie this weekend, but did almost nothing else besides move "reader" and "writer" slips of paper around for hours on end.

I'm going to sleep on the [community profile] fkficfest matches I've got, in case of further inspiration, and then send them on Sunday. I apologize for the delay!

Addendum, Sunday, 11:26 AM: Still matching. Sorry! Few are easy this year, but I hope they will turn out to be good.

If you know someone who would have fun playing in an FK exchange, who may not yet have signed up, please remind that person!

I've posted [community profile] fkficfest promos to every eligible community I know (on DW, LJ, and ForKni-L). Your turn! If you know another eligible community or venue, please let them know. If you haven't yet mentioned the game to your circle on your own journal, please consider it!

Sign-ups are open until this coming Friday, March 24, at 11:59 PM (how to sign up) (where to sign up). We currently have 7 sign-ups. I expect at least 1 more. I hope to be happily surprised by more than that...?

You guys have posted some promos! Thank you! Check out:
More are definitely welcome! Invite your friends!

I've posted promos to all the eligible DW communities that I know of: [community profile] fandom_on_dw, [community profile] fandomcalendar, [community profile] last_writes, [community profile] yuletide, [community profile] femme_fic, [community profile] fksquee. Next: LJ communities (that I know of).

One player has already signed up for this year's [community profile] fkficfest. Yay, speedy person! I've got my own sign-up form in a TXT file. I'll tinker with it for a bit (we have until 11:59 PM Pacific on March 24).

I have this year's banner and promo post ready. I plan to start pinging one community per day either tonight or tomorrow. (I'm planning on [community profile] last_writes, [community profile] fandom_on_dw, and [community profile] fandomcalendar for sure. Maybe also [livejournal.com profile] femme_fic, [community profile] fksquee, [community profile] yuletide, [livejournal.com profile] yuletide, and [livejournal.com profile] oldschoolfic?)

Please do consider inviting fans to the game from your own journals, communities, and other venues! (Where does fandom hang out these days?) Feel free to use the banner if it serves you:

The 2017 rules and sign-ups post is now up on [community profile] fkficfest. Sign-ups are open!

(That took longer than expected. Sorry!)

Please come play with us this year. :-) FK is turning 25, and everyone is welcome! As you may remember, back in our fifth game, we declared a jubilee and wiped the slate clean; no one is suspended or banned in any way.
