Soon, I'll post our annual fkficfest pre-game poll, to ask when and how you'd like best to play.

Beyond the defaults, like dates, what kinds of questions should the poll ask? What gameplay topics should we ponder? How can we make the game more fun and more accessible? Please reply here to let me know. (For example, for some years, I've tried very hard to cross-match players, so people don't get the same matches year after year. Has that been a mistake? Would players be happier with rerun matches?)

The pre-game poll won't stay open too very long this year. Perhaps just a week? I feel that it's most important that the poll reach our current community members and past players. Then, after we've done our best to make things work for the existing community, we can broadcast far and wide, inviting everyone to come join in.

I'm sorry; it really did take this long. I went to mass and a movie this weekend, but did almost nothing else besides move "reader" and "writer" slips of paper around for hours on end.

We have 9 sign-ups so far! Sign-ups are open through tonight (11:59 PM Pacific, Friday, March 24) ... or, you know, when I start matching on Saturday morning.

We are up to 6 sign-ups for this year's fkficfest exchange game. I know of 2 other people intending to play, and also 2 considering whether to play. Hopefully, more will be happy surprises!

One player has already signed up for this year's fkficfest. Yay, speedy person! I've got my own sign-up form in a TXT file. I'll tinker with it for a bit (we have until 11:59 PM Pacific on March 24).

I have this year's banner and promo post ready. I plan to start pinging one community per day either tonight or tomorrow. (I'm planning on last_writes, fandom_on_dw, and fandomcalendar for sure. Maybe also femme_fic, fksquee, yuletide, yuletide, and oldschoolfic?)
