Today, Friday 08/15, is the last day to submit prompts for the oldschoolfic back-to-school themed ficathon for out-of-production fandoms (rules, submissions).  It's also the last day to submit nominations for the forsaken_fandom awards project, for selected fandoms that no longer have multiple regular awards of their own (rules, submissions, FK nominees so far).

I gather that today is also the first day of Vividcon.  Have a marvelous time!

I don't know how to approve them. When I was nominated for "Starwort," they sent me an email asking my approval, and I emailed back to give it. They haven't emailed me about the others. I supposed I should just wait for an email, and that they were probably backlogged. Is there a different procedure? Should I post a comment somewhere?

Best to just email them and tell them that you approve. You don't want your nominations to get lost in the backlog, and this way, you're at least covering your butt. :)

You may well be right! But they have so many nominations to process, and I don't want to create more work for them. I'll at least give it through the weekend, based on their latest post... It's most important that the other FK authors get their notifications, to encourage them to write more FK! I think we all know I'm going to do that anyway. ;-)

I'm grateful for the nominations I received. I had decided I was quite content with the one, and then suddenly there were several more. To the extent I had an ambition there, it was two! :-)

Thank you for the heads-up. I went over to take a look at the final list -- which is very interesting -- and to ask how to approve my nominations (as I didn't receive an email). They must have had a very great deal to cope with this week; I respect that they're pulling everything together right on their restated schedule.
