I wanted to share that

hlh_shortcuts, the "Highlander Holiday Shortcuts" community, is holding its annual winter story exchange (500 words minimum, no maximum). Check out the sign-up post for rules. The timeline is:

09/28-10/10 Sign up.
10/15 Receive assignment.
12/10 Submit story.
12/10-12/15 Read stories.

I've thought a good deal about signing up to write for it myself, but I probably won't. Perhaps I'll read this year, and think again about playing next year? (If any of you have participated previously and would like to share your impressions, please chime in. Thanks!)

In other ficathon news, the

last_writes mod announced that there is no deadline after all to claim a prompt in their current ficathon (this is the community for canceled vampire fandoms including FK).
