an old anecdote of FK interpretational diversity
Wednesday, May 9th, 2018 07:33 amIn the thread on last week's
fkficfest reminder/question, conversation with
argentum_ls brought this to mind...
I first discovered the FK email lists, and all that went with them, midway through third season. Clueless newbie me read a new fanfic, in which Nick tried and failed to go cold-turkey on all blood products, almost starving, and finally resigning himself to consuming blood and renouncing his human friends, job, and hopes. I wrote to compliment the author on such a sad, striking tragedy. She replied, baffled, thanking me for the reaction, but sure that the story I'd named was happily triumphant.
Turned out, the author had founded the Dark Knighties. And I was... me. :-)
