Ficathons, fests & communities that welcome FK

trickortreatex is an exchange divided into "trick" or "treat" gifts (minimum 300 words). Nominations close September 8, sign-ups September 18. Works are due on October 24.
shipoween is a multifandom ship exchange (romance or gen). Nominations close September 8 and sign-ups September 18. Works reveal on October 31.
hurtcomfortex has an October prompt challenge, "Comfortween."
recthething, a recommendations community, is holding "Rectember," a September reccing event.
ladiesbingo, a bingo challenge for relationships between women characters, runs from 09/01/20 through 03/31/21.
yuletide_admin has posted this year's schedule.
fancake's September round features "underloved fanworks."

FK news & conversation
We don’t seem to have had any FK chatter on journals in August…? I feel a little guilty for letting Susan’s birthday go by unremarked; writing August fanfic in honor of everything Susan did for the fandom is a lovely tradition. Also, Cousins usually make sure to mark the anniversary of the Vesuvius explosion in August.
