We got 16 total nominations for [community profile] fkficfest '21.

That's fewer than I expected. So I'm wondering whether we should skip the middle stage of narrowing the field -- that is, jump ahead to the final vote -- or whether we should keep the middle stage.
  • In favor of keeping the middle stage of thinning the nominations: This is what was first communicated (no change means less confusion), plus narrowing the field could yield more consensus.
  • In favor of skipping ahead to the final vote: With a small initial field, the narrowing could be so minimal that there could be more value in spreading final voting across the whole set.

What do you think? I'll decide by tonight, and post one type of poll or the other.

Thanks!

Addendum, Monday night: We're keeping the "2 rounds" voting approach. Pick up to 2 prompts to go on the final ballot.
