brightknightie: Tessa working with a chisel tool at her desk in the barge (Other Fandom HL Tessa)
The [community profile] everywoman mods have announced that the exchange is on for this year. Read their post for their decision and the details. As I have just about every year that some version of such a fest celebrating women characters has run, I plan to participate. I enjoy many female characters who don't get as many stories as I feel they deserve.

500 words minimum. Nominate up to 8 fandoms, with up to 8 characters or groups each. Request 3-10 and offer 4-10 fandoms, with 1-10 characters or groups each. LLM usage is forbidden.

The writing window seems a tad tight, but doable, at just one month, and it comes hard on the heels of [community profile] fkficfest. Everywoman '23 shall be:
  • Nominations: June 1 - June 9
  • Signups: June 10 - June 21
  • Assignments out by: June 23
  • Assignments due: July 25
Yes, nominations open Thursday, June 1 (that's tomorrow my time as I type this, but already today in many other time zones).

I'm thinking of D&DC, BSG78, HL, and FK, as always. But I'm also thinking of The Journey to the West and the "Genie Lo" novels. Maybe the new QL and The Equalizer. Puss in Boots: The Last Wish because Kitty Softpaws is awesome and Goldy and Mama Bear are pretty neat, too. Dunno if I'd dare Loki or A:tLA, but I'd sure read them. If someone requested comics!Clea per the recent/current run by Jed MacKay, I might offer.

What do you think?
