Ficathons, fests & communities that welcome FK

• fkficfest started releasing in June and completed in July, with 13 total stories.
• comment_bingo, a challenge to comment on fanworks, has a new round closing November 30.
• small_fandoms is holding a "Shady Spot" fest with daily color/summer prompts through August. Their definition of "small fandom" is looser than Yuletide's and seems to accommodate FK.
• fandomgiftbasket fills continue through September 9.
• womansplace, a prompt fest for characters who identify as women (with some leeway for NB characters), has prompting through October 29 and fills through November 4.
• dailyicons is a community of 2-day challenges to create icons.
• minutia_r is hosting a fan-poetry prompt fest.
• allbingo's August theme is "new adventures."
• fancake's August theme is "time travel."

• 7/28: greerwatson is uploading to the web copies of FKFic-L fic war emails that had previously stopped being available online, and is unzipping files that were zipped when they were previously online. Read the post.
• 7/25: greerwatson has uploaded to the web a copy of Mel's fanfic archive, which was originally an unauthorized copy/paste of the FTP site, and had previously stopped being available online. Read the post.
• 7/26: nicholas_lucien shared that Catherine Disher had continued her decluttering and was selling her third-season crew jacket on eBay (a different jacket than her first sale). Read the post. It looks like it sold for $5 CAD over the minimum requested bid. See the sale.

Everywoman '23 stories still released & anonymous

As you know, the everywoman exchange released this past week. Visit the collection by fandom.

I can't well list recommendations until the stories de-anonymize, because that would process-of-elimination reveal which I wrote to those who know my fandom scope. :-) But I have now read every story in the exchange in fandoms I know that doesn't have a personal DNW in the tags, and there are several gems!

One is the BSG78 story written for my request (G, gen; ~3K words), which poses an exciting scenario that could easily have been the B plot of a canon episode: a clunky civilian shuttle is caught in transit between bigger ships during a Cylon attack on the fleet.
