FKFicFest '25 pre-game poll is closed
Saturday, February 22nd, 2025 08:22 amI've closed the
fkficfest pre-game poll. We have 8 folks who feel they'll most likely play this year (including me), 2 maybe, and 1 no. We have an overwhelming preference for stories coming due May 24 and reveals starting May 26, US Memorial Day (noted that the options I gave did not stray outside of the traditional late-spring slot and perhaps should have). I'll work backward from then and post a schedule this weekend!
10 of the 11 responses appeared within 2 days of posting the poll. I'm learning the lesson that we don't need to keep these polls open as long.
The sense of the community on how many prompts to have was 6 for 3 prompts and 4 for 5 prompts. That's a clear win for 3 prompts. Yet it is also close enough for 5 prompts that I feel I'm personally breaking the tie, and I don't feel strongly enough about it for that to feel right. (This year, I made two mistakes in setting up the poll. One resulted in me not being able to see who voted how. So I can't identify the votes of folks unlikely to play and compare counts with and without in case the percentages tip dramatically.) I will give the number of prompts a little more thought. If you have insights or inspirations about the optimal approach to the number of prompts, for community-wide fun and happiness, please let me know today, if you can? We will be using a variety of ranked-choice voting again, trying to find the prompts that most suit the most folks.
Thanks!
