This year's third [community profile] fkficfest/[livejournal.com profile] fkficfest story released on Wednesday. It happened to be the one that I wrote — "The Time Will Come" (general audiences; gen; 2,513 words; starring Janette) — from a prompt by [personal profile] senmut. Thanks to [personal profile] batdina for beta-reading!

Please consider checking out all the stories as they reveal. You can tune in every day on DW, LJ, ForKni-L, or our AO3 collection.

This year's second [community profile] fkficfest/[livejournal.com profile] fkficfest story is now released! It's a crossover with Fear the Walking Dead.

As a reminder to writers, you can change the posting date on your story. You may want to change it from the day you loaded it into the queue to the day that it releases in the ficathon. Some of us suspect (though I don't have data to prove this) that this change in date improves the visibility of your story on the AO3 and may win you more hits...?

Yay, FK fans!

2016's [community profile] fkficfest / [livejournal.com profile] fkficfest game is now revealing! The first story is out! We have 9 stories total, releasing 1 per day! Come read!

2016 AO3 Collection

Spread the word! You can announce the ficathon in general, or recommend stories in particular, or point out your own contributions...?

I had a power outage tonight — heatwave here; I presume that widespread air conditioning did its worst — but power's back now, and I've replied to all the FKFicFest questions I've received. If you sent one and haven't yet heard back, please re-send!

Right now, we have 6 stories in the queue! With only 9 players this year, that's an unprecedented promptness percentage. Thank you!

Better go add my own...

Addendum, Sunday, noon (Pacific Time): All 9 stories are in the AO3 queue!

Addendum, Sunday, 3:45 PM (Pacific Time): I think that I've achieved a balanced story release schedule, spacing short and long, gen and ship, vampires and humans.

I've started the "post parade" of this year's [community profile] fkficfest/[livejournal.com profile] fkficfest players. I plan to post more-or-less one per day until the middle of next week.

At that point, we'll have only a few days before this year's stories come due on 9/24, and start revealing on 9/26!

In the reply thread on the latest [community profile] fkficfest/[livejournal.com profile] fkficfest reminder, [personal profile] argentum_ls/[livejournal.com profile] argentum_ls, who isn't playing this year, made this very kind offer to those who are playing:

"Should anyone want someone to bounce ideas off of, brainstorm with, or generally complain at about the state of their stories, I'd be happy to help."

:-)

Edited 8:59 PM Pacific Time: To add Argentum_LS's LJ ID.

[community profile] fkficfest/[livejournal.com profile] fkficfest sign-ups have been open since May 18. We currently have 9 players. Sign-ups close today, Saturday, June 25, at noon (Pacific Time).

I'm going to go run some errands. Informally and unofficially, sign-ups are open until I get back to my computer.

We're still at 9 players in [community profile] fkficfest/[livejournal.com profile] fkficfest. If you'd like to play FK this summer (stories are due September 24), please be sure to sign up before noon (Pacific Time) tomorrow, Saturday, June 25. And please encourage your friends to play, too. Thank you!

Sign-ups for the 2016 [community profile] fkficfest/[livejournal.com profile] fkficfest are still at 9, which is the minimum set for exchange-style play. It would be lovely if more people jumped aboard! (You know how diverse FK fans are; matching is better with more people.)

Sign-ups are open until noon (Pacific Time), tomorrow, Saturday, June 25.

I've posted announcements and reminders on every DW and LJ community that I know. Do you know someone you might yet encourage or remind to play? Thanks!

[community profile] fkficfest/[livejournal.com profile] fkficfest has reached 9 sign-ups. This means that the 2016 game will be exchange-style (not challenge-style).

Were you awaiting the tipping point? This is it! Join us? Sign-ups close at noon (Pacific Time) on Saturday, June 25!

(If you think you don't have anything more to say about FK, I dare you to read FK's entry on TV Tropes, Wikipedia, IMDB, or similar. When you find yourself exasperated with their misconceptions... there you go! write that as story! show the right way to read FK! ~grin~)

For myself, I'm tremendously relieved to just know which it will be, and how I'll be spending my weekend. (Matching!)
