Ficathons, fests & communities that welcome FK

• yuletide_admin announced a rule change that makes FK again eligible for Yuletide, the giant, annual, small-fandoms exchange.
• trickortreatex, an exchange of a "trick" or a "treat" story, not necessarily Halloween-themed, has nominations through September 8. Reveals October 31.
• spook_me, a spooky story challenge with images of creatures as prompts, hasn't yet announced for this year, but I expect it to soon.
• launchtheship is a challenge to write the first fic on the AO3 for any pairing. Closes October 20.
• screen_icons is an icon challenge community with bimonthly challenges.
• inspiredby is a monthly collection of curated prompt lists.
• trope_of_the_month's September theme is "first times."
• allbingo's September theme is "story sparks."
• fancake's September theme is "unusual jobs."

Signal boost: Fandomgiftbasket seeks fills

fandomgiftbasket, a treating event in the line of Fandom Stocking, is supposed to reveal on September 10, but is still in need of 150+ treats. The minimum is 100 words for fic (or equivalents in other media). People may well be working on things right up to the deadline, but...

Check their Google Sheet. It's sorted by treat count, and it's easy to Ctrl+F for fandom names or DW user names. I don't see FK, D&DC, or BSG78 in there, but HL is, and of course all the Treks and other usual suspects, as well as many unusual suspects.
