• fkficfest is electing 3 prompts for this year's game. Setting our ballot is open until tonight. Voting will be open through 3/07.
• marchmetamatterschallenge encourages the archival of existing meta as well as the creation of new meta.
• whatif_au's March challenge is "coffeeshop AU." (Any kind of small shop counts.)
• fancake's March round hasn't been announced yet, not only because I'm posting before the first of March, but because the mod has suffered severe power outages. (She relayed: “Keep making recs for the current theme and I’ll be back as soon as I can.”)

• fandomtrees, a gifting fest, has fills through 1/03 and reveals on 1/06.
• one_sentence_only, the challenge community for micro-stories, has recast itself as "Write short & sweet," with new rules.
• blackisbeautifulex, a new exchange focusing on Black characters, has nominations to 1/19 and sign-ups to 1/29, with works due 2/21.
• fancake's January round is "everybody lives/nobody dies AUs." Yay, for happy beginnings!

• what_ho_library is a new historical resources community, for writers of fic set in "England and America," 1900-1940. (I would presume they meant all of the UK, Canada, and Ireland, also, but "England and America" is what they wrote.)
• goodintentionswipfest is a fest for "perpetually unfinished and discontinued" works.
• beyondthealgorithm is a fandom recommendations exchange. Sign-ups to November 7, due December 27.
• smallfandombang is a big bang challenge for small fandoms. Sign-ups to November 30.
• heroinebigbang is a 5K or 10K-word challenge focused on a female character. Sign-ups to December 31, due March 31.
• fixedthatforyou_fest, a prompt game for improving "what if"s, accepts fills through November 28.
• fancake's November round features "favorite fanworks." (Trapped on a desert island without internet? What do you wish you had printed out?)
• Winter holiday events:

We don’t seem to have had any FK chatter on journals in August…? I feel a little guilty for letting Susan’s birthday go by unremarked; writing August fanfic in honor of everything Susan did for the fandom is a lovely tradition.
